Sleepover with a Movie Marathon
I’m pretty sure my fourteenth birthday was spent terrifying ourselves watching The Ring followed by Troy to make it ‘all okay’. Needless to say, I spent the next year unable to close my eyes in the shower – if you’ve seen The Ring, you’d understand.
But birthday evenings spent huddled in sleeping bags with my friends are some of the most memorable. We’d spend the first half of the night eating pizza and chatting, then we’d have a movie marathon and spend the rest of it giggling and chatting. We barely got any sleep, but these were the best.
Garden Camping
Not sure you want to hear a bunch of teenagers giggling all night? Then get out the family tent and put them in the garden!
We don’t recommend this for winter birthdays but there are a few months in the UK where this could make for a really special evening for your favourite teenager.
To make it extra special, make a fire pit so they can toast marshmallows.
Spa Day At Home
One for an all-girlie group of friends: arrange a spa day at home. Get face masks, foot scrubs and more so the girls can pamper themselves and feel extra special.
Theme Park Day
Theme parks are a great way to get out the house and get their adrenaline running high! Plus, you can give the group of friends some autonomy: let them loose for the day with some cash and arrange to meet them at the exit.
Karaoke Night
Super fun for any ‘theatre kid’! Arrange a karaoke night at home with a karaoke machine which you can buy or hire. It might get loud though, so agree a ‘finish’ time before you start!
